Georgians should choose their representatives,
not the other way around.
Help fight Gerrymandering in Georgia.
From its mountains to the sea islands, Georgia is a beautiful state with abundant natural resources. This beautiful natural setting has been divided into unnatural political divisions by those who seize power for their own advantage. Every decade after the census, election districts are redrawn in a process called “redistricting.” When politicians manipulate redistricting to give unfair advantage to themselves and their party, the maps are rigged in a process called “gerrymandering.”
On Monday, January 28, 2019, Senator Elena Parent filed SR 52 The Democracy Act, new legislation to reform the redistricting process and to create a citizens' redistricting commission. The legislation is a "resolution" because it requires a change in the Georgia Constitution.
