Democracy Act Rollout Event and Lobby Day

Here's some exciting news for proponents of redistricting reform in Georgia!

SR 52 the Democracy Act was introduced on January 28, 2019.

State Senator Elena Parent has introduced new redistricting legislation in the Georgia Senate as SR 52 (the Democracy Act).  At the FDGA website, you can get a copy of SR 52 and a Reader's Guide to help you follow the official language of the legislation.

A rollout event and lobby day will be held to publicize the Democracy Act on February 19. 2019. 

Please join us on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, 8:00 am until approximately 12 noon to support the Democracy Act.  The event will be held at the Georgia Railroad Freight Depot at 65 MLK Jr Dr, Atlanta 30303, near the Capitol building in downtown Atlanta. Free breakfast will be served at 8:00 am. The program begins sharply at 8:30 am. 

Join Fair Districts GA, ACLU of Georgia, the Georgia Redistricting Alliance, Common Cause Georgia, the League of Women Voters of Georgia, Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta, Georgia Equality, GALEO, the Coalition for the People's Agenda, Georgia WAND, Georgia NAACP, and Planned Parenthood Southeast for this event.  The schedule includes expert speakers, training, and outreach to legislators.  Follow this link to the ACLU-GA Sign-up Form

We look forward to seeing you on February 19 for this important event.  Please meet Karen and Margaret in the lobby of the Georgia Railroad Freight Depot so that we can sit together.  We need to pack the room to demonstrate the depth of support for the Democracy Act and redistricting reform.
